KAVAC & THE KAMARATA VALLEY
The turistic village of Kavac is an initiative of tourism management of the Pemon Indians and is an endearing and heavenly place, still pretty much off the beaten track. It's perfect for exploring into the wonders of the savannas of the Canaima National Park. It is located in the Valley of Karamata, at the foot of the Auyan Tepui, the table mountain, from which the Angell Falls, the highest in the world, descent. It´s located very close to amazing caves, canyons, rivers and waterfalls. The word Kavac translates  "Macaw" or "Papagayo" and clearly this area is as colorful and exotic as this birds. The Pemon camps for the accommodation of visitors are on the banks of the Kavac river, this will be our base to explore these beautiful places. Where you'll be given the opportunity to have a genuine interaction with the hospitality of the Pemon people
For those who don't have much time to go deeper into the Valley of Karamata and also want to visit the area of the Canaima Lagoon and the Angel Falls, the ideal is to combine a visit to Kavac with the 3 days tour to Canaima and the Angel Falls, resulting in an unforgettable experience of 4 days and 3 nights, which shows you the most beautiful attractions in Canaima. Here we suggest two different tours to Kavac, for either 2 or 3 days. Both can be combined with more destinations, as Uruyen or the village of Karamata. At the end you'll have and overflight to the Angel Falls, which makes this tour an interesting option for the dry season, when the rivers are too dry to navigate to the bottom of the fall.
